It may be too old to enjoy
I bought a a book at a flea-market 'Corel Linux OS Starter Kit' - and had it on the shelf for about 3 years when friend of mine gave me 4 CDs claiming to be Corel Linux. I was excited and thought I'd try it. He told me he had tried loading it on his AMD Games machine but it just locked up and did nothing. So after trying all 4 discs on my Dell 3010 with the same result I decided to google it and found this site Internet Archive... Downloaded the installation ISO, burnt it to disc as the USB boot didn't seem to work om my Compaq Pentium 4 machine with 1gb ram... It says 'loading corel linux...' and there is some animation at the bottom right. Then it says 'starting corel linux...' and the animation stops, so does the disc light, the keyboard is dead (ie numlock light doesn't come on)
So unless I'm doing something wrong? I believe that the 1999 OS doesn't run unless one has a 1999 computer.
I'm disappointed, but hey, there are plenty of other Linux distros to try out. I'll keep the book and original CD's for nostalgia's sake, but they won't feature front row on my book case.
